A Clear Mixing Glaze for Exterior?

Questions & AnswersCategory: Exterior Painting QuestionsA Clear Mixing Glaze for Exterior?

We have a shed in our backyard that we want to paint with a weathered/driftwood technique. We used this particular technique (https://www.prettyhandygirl.com/faux-finish-weathered-wood-grain/) on previous interior projects (doors and a mantel). Is there a clear mixing glaze that I can use that is safe for using outside? I haven’t been able to find anything. Could I just use a regular glaze for interior and just put some kind of exterior clear coat over the finished product?

I have done “Antiquing” many times over the years, and if you want to protect the finish from weather… the best thing is to give it a coat of Clear Spar Varnish! Good Luck!
