Crown Molding Paint Color

I have low ceilings. Is it better to paint the crown molding the same color as the ceiling or the walls? The ceiling is off white and the walls are a deep tan/beige.

I would paint them a Different Color, so they STAND OUT… perhaps a light brown (semi gloss), but generally they are painted with the wall color (but in semi gloss)…

The molding can also match the trim, base-doors-etc, within the room. Dave is right, you do want it to stand out.
