Painting Exterior Doors Black.

I would like to paint my exterior doors black. I have heard that you shouldn’t paint doors with southern exposure black. Is there any truth to this?

The only truth to this is they will be exposed to extreme heat and the chill at night. It could cause the expand and contraction that might cause them to crack and peel sooner then a door not exposed to these elements. However you should get a little life out of it. Painted right you should get a year.
