Prime only the patch or do I prime the entire ceiling?

I have a small area on my ceiling where new dry wall was put, can I just put Kilz on the new dry wall area or do I have to do the whole ceiling?

Prime just the patched area. If the ceiling was previously painted there in no need to prime the whole ceiling. Use Kilz2, this is a water based version and has more body than oil based Kilz. Allow the primer to dry for a couple of hours then paint as usual.
