Siding nail pops

What is the best way to take care of “nail pops” in masonite siding prior to painting the exterior of my house?

Well are the nails loose or just pushing out? If they are just pushing out but still tight then using a nail punch lightly tap till flush with the wall. Be careful you don't want to crack the Masonite. If the nails are loose then you can pull them and I have heard of using caulk around the nail and push it back in. That should seal it up and solve that problem.
