I am painting my theater room after 3 years. The original paint is eggshell color. I am covering with a dark espresso bean color. I have applied 2 coats on the room but it continues to streak and spot. The paint is not going on uniformly, no matter how much I paint over. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Two coats should have covered, if using a good paint. One possibility is you are not applying the paint thick enough. You can try rolling the paint heavier or use a thicker/better roller cover. If you are applying the paint thickly you can try adding a little water to the paint to help it spread more evenly.
