Wrought iron fence has an existing oil based coat that is 7 years old. Can I paint over it using Frazee’s ARO-THANE water based urethane modified alkyd paint? Will it adhere to the old coat after light sanding…or should i use another oil based paint?

Best to use a straight oil base paint … be sure to use an EXTERIOR Grade paint, and choose Sherwin Williams or Behr…
