Preventing Mold and MildewIf you have problems with mold and mildew try to prevent its growth after painting or be forced to repaint sooner than expected. Mildew can damage all paints and the surfaces it is growing on. A simple way to establish the presence of mold and mildew is to apply a few drops of chlorine bleach to the affected area. If it is present, the discoloration will lighten and disappear after a few minutes. This discoloration is a fungus that flourishes in warm and moist environments. And appears as a black, brown or gray discoloration that can be mistaken for dirt build up. Mold and Mildew Prevention StrategiesThe best way to control the growth of fungas is to prevent its growth in the first place. A clean, dry, light filled environment discourages its formation.
