I purchase many tools to help me understand the ideas behind color schemes. Over the years these have been books, videos and now with the internet ebooks. Most haven't worked out that well for me but some do work. Here I will present what I consider to be the best of the best tools and informational materials that will help you choose paint colors and get a great look for any room.
Check out my recommended interior decorating resources. I wouldn't recommend them if they didn't work for me.
Well, I found a nice "eBook" called Paint Color Cheat Sheets and it does most the hard work for you.
First; What is Paint Color Cheat Sheets? This is an all-inclusive paint color selection tool for 81 of Sherwin-Williams' most popular interior house paint colors. As a professional painter I know that although there are thousands of paint colors on the market, only a few dozen are really worthwhile.
Paint Color Cheat Sheets also includes great information about each color; like what it pairs with (complimenting colors), where the color is best used (what rooms) and the LRV rating of each color (how it interacts with light). Of course all of this is available for every color group; red, yellow, blue, brown, etc.
There's much more, but these 2 things are my favorite parts. Actually there is much much more to Paint Color Cheat Sheets than what meets the eye. And that's why I encourage you to use Paint Color Cheat Sheets to help you choose colors for a room, and get the job done right the first time.
Not much. The main thing is it deals mostly with interior paint colors. It would be nice if it had more color combinations for exterior use. Paint Color Cheat Sheets does have a lot; large color range, recommended colors for kid's rooms and baby nurseries plus some front door colors. It just would have been nice to have siding and trim colors.
If you're ready to get serious about tackling a painting project, I suggest that you take a look at what Paint Color Cheat Sheets has to offer. Simply put, Paint Color Cheat Sheets is a worthwhile paint color selection tool.
