Over the years I have been asked a lot of house painting questions. On these pages I will try to give an answer, if possible. Have
you run into a snag while painting your houses exterior or just need a little help? It's easy to get the answer you need – Just Ask!
Due to the volume of house painting questions I received via email every day I decided to build these pages for easy access to the
answers you need. Please be aware that I'm an actual working house painter and it could take a few days before you receive an answer.
I will do the best I can to answer all questions as fast as I can.
The questions are arraigned in categories. These are;
- General - These are painting questions that apply to all aspects of house painting. This could
include choosing a good tool, using painting tools, plus questions concerning primers and paints. The list doesn't stop there. Think
of this category as questions that either apply to all parts of house painting or are difficult to place into a category.
- Interior - Interior painting
questions pertaining to the preparation and painting of interior surfaces. This list can be very long indeed. Like spots that bleed
through your paint, should I paint or stain, peeling paint or how many coats do I need. If it has to do with actually painting something
inside your home, ask your question here.
- Exterior - Questions pertaining
to exterior painting and staining. This could include, but isn't limited to, how do I prepare a surface or how do I actually do an exterior
painting or staining project.
- Paint Colors - All aspects of color and
sheen. From where to put a color, dividing two areas or just a little help finding that perfect paint color.
- Wood
Finishing and Refinishing - If you have a question about stains, clear coats or stripping paint then this is the place for you.
Included in this category is cabinets, fiberglass doors and how to clean off those pesky paint splatters.
- Painting Contractors - I have
received a few questions pertaining to choosing a good painting contractor and "shouldn't this be included in the job". Through these
questions and any that you have, I will try to bring some clarity to finding a good painting contractor.
- Contractor to Contractor - Questions by painting
contractors for painting contractors. If you are a painting contractor, consider answering some of these questions. It would be a big help!
