Steve Devoid asked 10 years ago

I am painting a bedroom and have changed out the clamshell casing on all windows, closets, doors and baseboard I have painted all the trim in the room white, however all the trim and in the hall are natural fir which is urethaned. My question is how to finish the jamb and inside of the door?

You will need to paint the room side on the door jamb. This is the part that goes too but doesn't include the door stop. Please see the included photo.

The door itself can either be left unpainted, matching the other doors in your home, or the side that faces the room can be painted. This side includes the door edge that faces the room when the door is open. See the door photo included with my answer.

Hope this helps.
