Elastomeric Paint for a Metal Roof?

I have an expensive, defective, stone coated metal roof made by Duraloc, now bankrupt. Allmet took over the company, but does not honor the 50 yr. warranty, now non existent, on the roof. I am left with a problem — mainly cosmetic. The stone is coming off, revealing brown primer beneath. A painter suggested I have him paint it with Dulux elastomeric paint, and possibly use a metal primer first.
The metal roof would be pressure washed first, and allowed to dry well.

Has anyone else used elastomeric paint on a metal roof with success ? How long has it lasted ? Thanks for the help.

I would use an Acrylic Porch & Deck Enamel… and use an exterior grade oil primer but only on spots that require priming…

There are specialized roof coatings, some "elastomeric" in nature, on the market. Sherwin Williams as well as other paint stores sell these products. Always use a coating that is specifically designed for your substrate.
