Paint colors

Anonymous Staff asked 4 years ago

Had previously asked a question on what colors to paint kitchen/livingroom combo in addition to sunroom and I got the answer of white. Even though that is a good color, I actually want color in the rooms but nothing to overpower. Reddish wood (laminate) in sunroom, beige tile in kitchen with reddish cabinets, and no windows in livingroom, it sits in the middle.

Take a trip to your local paint store and look at their color comparison samples…

I just remembered that on my Colors webpage at my site, you can take the link near the bottom of the page to the Sherwin Williams Color Visualization Tool… (it takes a while to load up-be patient)

Here's my Colors web page: <a href="http://davmagic.com/paint/PAGES26.html&quot; target="_blank" rel="nofollow">Paint Colors</a>

OK, I'm going to take a stab at this one. First a couple of photos would be great, help with "color inspiration." Personally, I would stay away from reds, light or not, as your floors and cabinets already have a reddish tone. Not to say the right red wouldn't look bad but it might be over powering.

I like neutral colors; like light grays, tans, browns even earthy golds. Any of these might be nice for your situation. Plus they go with anything, even red floors.

I found some nice color combinations on the Benjamin Moore website. Any of these would look nice but depends on your tastes. Living rooms can easily support some nice "bolder" colors while kitchens are best left neutral.
