Painting a wood wall.

Cheryl asked 10 years ago

We have a wood wall that we would like to paint but don’t know if there is a better way to go about it other than sanding the entire wall and its molding first. Is there a product out there that will take to glossy finish off?

You could use a liquid sander/deglosser like Paso. Paso is a mix of different solvents that can degloss and clean at the same time. The smell is very strong and this will be a problem for most interior projects. I think there are water based alternatives on the market that don't have the strong solvent smell as Paso.
