Painting In What Order

Tommy asked 10 years ago

I am about to get a wood floor installed throughout the house and install crown molding. Should I have the painter in before the floor and the trim is installed or after or before and after?

It depends on the extent of the painting that has to be done. Have the major painting done before the floor install. This includes walls and ceilings. This is also a good time for the painter to prime and apply a coat of paint to the trim before it is installed. After everything is installed the painter will come back and finish the details.
