What do I have to do to prep a never before painted exterior metal door? What kind of paint would be the best kind to use?

Prime it with an exterior oil base primer… finish coat with an exterior acrylic paint… use Sherwin Williams A-100 Gloss…

Priming is always good, but sand the door 1st.
