Priming My House

Anonymous Staff asked 2 years ago

I want to paint my house, but am curious if priming is necessary? I am painting it the same color as it was previously and just wonder if purchasing primer and laying it on is really a step I need to take?

If you have no new or exposed wood, no new or exposed substrate of any type, I can think of no reason to prime. Two coats of a top quality finish paint should provide 6-10 years of satisfaction.
