Generally, no it isn't OK for fresh paint to get wet from rain. But, it really depends on the paint used. Sherwin Williams Resiliance can be applied a couple of hours before rain or bad weather, depends on the temperature and humidity.

Keep an eye on the paint. If you notice bubbling, running colorant or flashing (sheen differences across a surface)then some repainting might be needed.
