I have a leaded glass fiberglass door, which is showing signs of ware and peeling from the sun. I have sealed the door twice a year to protect it, but it now needs to be refinished. Primarily on the raised panels and lower paned of the doors and side lights, the stain appears to be fading. What can I use to remove the sealant, so that I can restain the door and then reseal it.

I have used a commercially available stripper which is a methylene chloride base. This has worked great for fiberglass but poses significant risk and troubles if applied to any sort of plastics or synthetics which may have been attached to the door for decoration.
