Can an automotive clear coat be sprayed over exterior latex paint applied to wood?

I don't think this is a good idea. The auto clear coats I have used in the past are based on some hot solvents. This would cause bubbling of the latex paint.

A good exterior paint has all of the protection it needs from UV light and the environment. I don't think adding a layer of any clear finish will pay off in the long run.
