Our house is a cream colored brick with stucco outlining the windows. The roof is maroon/brown colored shingles and the front door is stained dark brown. What colors could we paint the house trim and window trim that would compliment the roof and brick colors? They are currently yellowy-cream and just blend in with the brick.

With the color combination that you currently have on your house, I would consider a green or navy house trim accent. The boldness of the contrast will work nicely with the cream brick and will not blend like the yellowy-cream color did. It will also be less drastic than a red or something in that color family.
