Wood Deck Sealer

Anonymous asked 10 years ago

Last year I rolled Behr sealer with a little color on my deck. Last week I sprayed clear Thompson sealer over the Behr but the deck did not match colors. What do I need to do to re-spray Behr back on the deck? Do I have to remove the Thompson I sprayed last week or just spray Behr over it?

At this point it is best to remove all of the sealers you have used, get down to good sound wood. Sanding is the best way but there are deck strippers on the market that do work. Once the existing deck sealers are removed and the deck is in good shape you will be able to apply your favorite sealer.
