Wall Plates Masking Tape

by Phyllis Kariukis
(Baltmore, MD)

Having moved house 3 times within the last 10 years, I have become an avid painter. Although I enjoy painting, I find dealing with wall plates tedious, time consuming and sometimes frustrating. Thats why I designed Strips Wall Plate Masking Tape. Strips is a masking tape designed specifically for wall plates of various dimensions and sizes. Strips is easy to apply and removes cleanly every time. Simply apply onto the wall plate, paint and remove when paint is dry.

No way. I would have paid several million dollars to do what you suggest. Talk about tedious. And crappy looking to boot. You can "never" equal the look of even roll on by using a brush.
To remove the one or 2 screws that hold on the plates is by far easier. And one can roll close enough for the missing paint to be hidden by the plate. I mean the plate can hide a bad drywall job. Just don't roll over the outlet or light switch and let the walls dry. Put the perfectly clean plates back on and viola, done deal.
I did it with a manual screwdriver. Still faster than tape.

What a waste of money. By far the easiest way to deal with wall plates is to take them off (1 or 2 screws) and then paint the wall. Replace the plates when the paint is dry.

Don't stick your fingers in the uncovered electrical box.... you could receive a potentially lethal electric shock.
