Would putting a dark color on a wall that has a window make the room look darker?

I'm painting my walls a dark brown and a light brown and wanted to know if I put the dark paint color on the wall with the window if it will make the room darker. Answer Adding any dark paint color to a room, even an accent wall, could make the room darker. Putting your dark brown on the same wall as a window will minimize this effect. This wall is a good choice for your accent color. Plus the dark browns appearance will be a more true color without the color changing effects of the sunlight.
