Blending trim and roller?

Darrell asked 10 years ago

The area that is cut in with a brush appears to be lighter than the rolled area. Latex low sheen paint. Same can of paint. Could this be do to the type of roller (3/8″ nap, standard cover)

More likely it is due to not applying enough paint when brushing in the edges… and also not rolling up close enough to the edge of the adjacent surface… but moreover, it sometimes is the result of using a brand of paint that is "not up to par" …

But again… 3/8 inch is a good choice for dry wall and/or plaster… however, again, the brand of roller cover can be the culprit here… there is a BIG difference in finish, depending on the material used in the cover, varying between various brands… all polyester, or some other synthetic, or pure lambs skin, etc
Only trial and error on your part will tell…
