You can but I would recommend against it. Check the label of the polyurethane and I bet you will find it to be an "interior" product. Sherwin-Williams, Pittsburgh and Benjamin-Moore make some good deck sealers. These products do not have the film build which is the failure point of any product such as polyurethane exterior.
