How long should i wait before painting after applying a light knockdown texture to my walls? Walls have a semigloss paint on them.

24 hours is enough time in most situations. As long as the drywall mud is dry then you can prime and paint. Pay special attention to the corners. This area will take the longest to dry. To help shorten the dry time open up some windows and run a fan.
