The paint on our kitchen cabinet doors is gross. I don’t know what the previous owners painted it with but I can’t get it clean & it feels tacky to the touch. What do I do? Do I need to strip the paint first and then repaint? What type of paint is best for a kitchen? HELP~ I hate my cabinets!!

Probably you can't get it clean and non-sticky is due to grease.

Stop by your local paint dealer and get a box of Tri-Sodium-Phosphate. Mix according to label directions for cleaning cabinets and after cleaning you should be ready to sand and paint your cabinets. Check out Karl's section on cabinet refinishing for more thorough instructions.
