KNOTS 'BLEEDING' THROUGH PAINT

Anonymous asked 10 years ago

I shellacked the knots before I painted but they still bled through the 2 coats. If I paint again will they still come through?

Did you use 2 coats of shellac primer. It will take 2 coats. Also the knots might still be producing sap. This could continue to bleed through, especially if the wood is just a couple of years old or less.

Try adding another coat of primer and see what happens.
