Can you paint latex paint over latex without priming first? I want to paint my living room over old latex paint and I’m not sure if it needs priming first.

Yes you can, as long as the surface is clean and in good shape. In this situation, primer is necessary for persistent stains (water stains) or repairs. Choose a good 100% acrylic paint for the best results.

If you don't know the condition of the last paint used I suggest try in a small part (maybe 1 sq mt) with the new paint. If you see good results just finish the application, however, if you see the paint absorbed through the wall, apply the prime first, then paint with the new latex.
