OUTSIDE WALL PAINT

HENDRIK asked 10 years ago

WE PAINTED OUR OUTSIDE WALLS WITH A EXPENSIVE ACRYLIC PAINT. A DAY AFTER WE PAINTED THE WALLS WE DISCOVERED MARKS ON THE WALLS AS THOUGH THE WALLS WERE WET. THE MARKS RAN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM. IT APPEARED ON THE WET SIDE OF THE WALLS ONLY, IE WHERE LITTLE OR NO SUN IS.

When you say "outside" I assume you mean Exterior… so … you say you used ""an expensive" paint… that does not mean anything as far as durability and quality… chances are it is the fault of both your application technique AND the paint you used…

Use Sherwin Williams A-100 Gloss for all Exterior work and learn how to apply the material properly…

It's possible the marks are places where the paint is thicker from over lapping during application. This will temporarily increase the sheen in these areas. If this is the case the shinier or wet looking areas will tone down to match the rest of the wall after curing. Curing takes at least 2 weeks. Allow the paint to cure and then see if these areas are still shiny or wet looking.
