Painted ceiling

Pam asked 7 years ago

My husband just finished painting the ceiling in the kitchen it was cleaned and prepped prior to painting. After it dried he inspected his job and notices a ton of burr like areas that now have to be sanded down and re-painted. What is this caused from? Thank you so much, we are clueless as to why this happened.

  1. One possibility is using a cheap roller cover.  The fine fibers of a roller cover can come off when rolling and be embedded into the paint. ofter rolling up into a tiny ball and looking like a “burr”.  This usually only happens with cheap covers.
  2. Another possibility is a chemical reaction between the paint and a surface contaminate.  Oils from air fresheners or candles can be a source of problems.  If the “burrs” are isolated or confined to single areas then this is a possibility.

May be it is because of any chemical reaction.
