Painting over Cranberry

Karie asked 10 years ago

I am repainting my sons room. The top half is a lighter brown and the bottom is a cranberry. Our new color is very dark brown….is there any problem with just painting over the cranberry right away or do I need to prime the cranberry first?

The dark brown should cover good so priming isn't needed. It still could take 2 coats but this is normal.
