Semi gloss paint walls…

Nick asked 10 years ago

We picked a color called “gold metallic paint” from Lowe’s that had to be painted in two stages. First layer was a Semi-gloss yellow paint which had to be applied several times due to wrong primer color…!! The last paint is a metallic paint which is almost impossible to get it painted over as it leaves lines and dark and light spots all over the wall… I have used the expensive rollers made for metallic color and still did not work…!

I removed the top metallic paint and now I want to get rid of the semi-gloss paint which is not easy to paint over… How do I get rid of this paint before I paint a this room in another flat paint based color??? What paint do I use to cover it up?

Thank you!

Removing or stripping the paint isn't necessary. But priming over it is a good idea. This will seal it up and make repainting easier. Use any good universal acrylic primer.
