Storm windows and screens stick to each other when stored, what can we do about it?

We have several windows on our house and in the spring, we take off the storms and put on the screens. In the fall, we do just the opposite. While the storms and screens are not on the house and we have to store them, they sometimes get “stuck” together. I wondered if you know of something to place between them to prevent this, that will not make matters worse. I have thought about using pieces of fabric or cardboard but would like your opinion. Thanks.

Store everything in a upright, vertical, position. This will reduce the pressure between each screen or storm window. Also, put wax paper between each piece where they touch. The wax paper should reduce the risk of sticking.
