Stripping Stain Off Cabinet

I stained an unfinished oak cabinet with stain and it turned out too dark. Is there a way to strip the stain off to make it look unfinished or close to unfinished again? I tried using BIX varnish and stain stripper and it did not work. I left it on for 10 minutes as directed, tried to take off didn’t work. Put more on and left on for 30 minutes, wiped/scrapped off and did not work. Any suggestions?

Try a Furniture Refinisher Product…

You will need to do some sanding to remove the stain. Start with a light grit (150 grit) and see how it goes. The stain should be in the top layer so this won't take too much sanding.
