Tacky Satin Paint

Anonymous asked 10 years ago

I painted with satin paint after using a good primer and the paint is still tacky after months of dry time. What can I do?

You will need to repaint. Maybe this time with a different brand. I have noticed that some paints have a tacky feel but are dry to the touch. This is very similar to some exterior paints, exterior paints must remain very flexible over time and the tackiness seems to be part of it.

Priming shouldn't be needed but do choose a good brand, Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams are good brands.
