I am having a painting conundrum, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions. If I am painting the walls in my hallways, family room and Kitchen an off white (possibly Pratt and Lambert ‘Ancestral’, or Benjamin Moore ‘Swiss Coffee’, cabinets are going to be Benjamin Moore ‘simply white’), what color do you do the trim? I am using warm neutrals in the rest of the house, (taupes, mauves, greys) and want a trim color that will not be too bright/stark with the darker warm neutrals, but that will also work with the off whites. (want the trim to be unified through out the house). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Well any dark trim will look great, so you are heading towards the right direction. A dark trim is going to create a very nice backdrop especially white off white colors. For you, I recommend that you use either dark brown, hunter green or a dark rusty orange. These colors will work great for the hallway and family room areas as they are very common. They are also easy on the eyes and make a great trim and finish!
