Answer for Using B & Q matt emulstion over B & Q kitchen and bathroom matt emulsion?

Sound like you used a bad batch of paint. Many paints have an ammonia smell when first applied, but this dissipates upon drying. You will have to seal the kitchen walls with a shellac primer then repaint with new paint, perhaps from a different manufacture. If a shellac primer isn't available you can try a primer designed for sealing smoke damage.
