Answer for What kind of primer should I use in my bathroom?

Use a Pigmented Shellac Sealer Primer… not a Latex Primer… finish coat with Acrylic Semi… using a High Quality Paint, like Sherwin Williams Classic-99 … get a fan installed, or instruct users to crack open the window and door when hot showering… allow 2 weeks for the paint to cure before hot showering… if you want extra protection… finish coat with an exterior oil base house paint instead of the Acrylic interior paint…

Answer for What kind of primer should I use in my bathroom?

Any good acrylic bonding primer will work fine. The biggest thing to do before priming is wash your walls and the ceiling. It is possible that mold and soap scum is on these surfaces.

After washing and priming use a 100% acrylic semi-gloss paint. The high sheen will help shed water and prevent damage. I highly recommend you install an exhaust fan as soon as possible. No paint can prevent moisture problems forever.
