We have painted the walls in our house(newly erected) walls with primer and then paint. After a hour or so from drying the paint appears to be coming up as if someone came along and threw a cup of water on the wall. It has done it in two rooms the first room the streaks appeared right away the second room the streaks appeared a few months after the paint job?????? Do you have any idea why this is happening???

Did you use a good primer and apply it properly? Did you use a high quality paint and apply it properly? These are typically the root cause of your problems…

A contaminate is on the wall or in the drywall used. This is reacting with the primer and paint. Use another type primer, universal blocking oil primer should work. If not a shellack primer with need applying.

These problems are common, we have to trust that the dry wall installer did use clean new boards. Its not about passing the problem here, you two have had new boards applied in two different places. Buying oil and shellac primers isn't the solution all of the time, it may cause more of a mess if you never used these products, not to mention costly products to solve a solution with a great product and for less money and easy clean up! Purchase an EXTERIOR primer! apply the primer to the surface giving you problems. WAIT for 8 hrs cure time on the primer. If the streaks do not come through again, tada paint with your finish coat. Exterior paint really isn't recommended for interior use, but in times like these, do what ya need to do! Its also best for any bathroom issues……….
