Is it possible to apply an acrylic indoor colored urethane over older acrylic natural colored urethane that has darkened in color(pine wood)to receive a white washed effect?

Yes, I have done this several times. Usually I will mix a paint of the color I want with the acrylic varnish. After this dries, then apply at least two coats of acrylic finish straight from the can.
