Does Sherwin Williams Sea Salt and Sherwin Williams Ivoire go well together?

share

I get 3 paint colors for my new house. The main color will be SW Ivoire. I would like to paint my dining room SW Sea Salt above the chair rail/wainscot and leave the SW Ivoire below (white trim) but I don’t know if those colors go well together.

  1. I looked up those colors and I don't think they go well together. I would suggest either the Sea salt with a sea foam or a palest blue; or the ivory with an ecru.

  2. Opinions about which colors go well together is very subjective so just because one person likes it doesn't mean another will. Having said that, it's also true that certain color combinations are better suited together than others, and Ivoire and Sea Salt go together fairly well. What you really should do though is try it for yourself. If you go to the paint store they will give you chips of each color that you can take with you. Take some clear tape and attach the chips to the wall where you plan to paint, in the approximate location where you will be painting, and leave them for several days. each time you walk past be sure to look at them and imagine how the wall would look if it were covered in those colors. This will give you a good idea of how they will look when painted, and let you make the choice based on your own experience and taste.
