I have contractors at my house replacing doors and painting the hallway. The doors which were repainted have a different feel then the previous ones. I believe they used flat paint and not semi gloss. I have kids in the house which will require finger prints to be cleaned up regularly. What type of paint is better? Thank you

A semi-gloss is much better than a flat. Any sheen is easier to clean than a flat or no sheen paint. Your new doors should have the same sheen as the other doors and trim in your house.
