Epoxy Interior Wall Paint

Paul DiCicco asked 10 years ago

We currently have a room with walls that are basically dry walled and painted with latex interior wall paint.

We want to make this entire room a medical device, class 100,000 clean room.

Can epoxy interior wall paint be used in order to provide the hard, chip free wall surface that is required for this type of clean room environment?

I look forward to hearing back from you.
Thank you

A good 2 part epoxy should meet the specs. You would need 2 good thick coats to have the durability. Not all epoxies are created equal so you will need to double check with the manufacture about this as I'm not an expert on clean room specs.

The nice thing about an epoxy is it's easy to apply. Plus it's toughness, resistance to scratching and you can use some harsh cleaning chemicals and not have a drastic affect on the paint film.
