Is there an exterior paint that can be applied to 20/30 sand finish stucco to make it look smooth?

I have been told that there is a paint that can make un-smooth stucco look smooth. Does such a paint exist and is this correct?

Paint alone can't create a truly smooth surface. It conforms to the surface irregularities as it dries. Using two heavy coats of an elastomeric, or other similar thick coating, could considerably reduce the surface texture. The stucco would feel smoother.
