Kitchen Oak Cabinet Stain

Anonymous asked 10 years ago

New oak cabinets, want to keep them light. So what type of stain or vanish or what would I use?

Assuming your "new" cabinets are UNFINISHED (bare wood)… stain them with an oil base stain, using proper staining technique SEE: //davmagic.com/paint/PAGES25.html

Then Varnish them with an Oil Base Varnish (use a Satin finish) SEE: //davmagic.com/paint/PAGES39.html

Good Luck!

Old Masters gel stain and any finish you prefer.

Sherwin Williams makes a good choice of Stains… use an Oil Stain on new cabinets… follow my advice on my web page here: http://davmagic.com/paint/PAGES25.html
After Staining you need to Varnish the cabinets… I have another web page for that here: http://davmagic.com/paint/PAGES39.html
Good Luck…
