Mixed Textured Wall

Kate asked 5 years ago

The drywall has many different textures – some smooth, some not. (Just bought this house and very uneven drywall work.) When I painted the wall, the paint was very uneven, some lighter, some darker spots. The same paint was used as before (left by the previous owner). Should I sand down the wall, use a primer?

Using "Left over paint" can cause problems, since you can't validate the quality and mixture content (might have been changed or thinned)… start over by block sanding all surfaces with coarse paper… prime with a pigmented shellac primer… finish coat with a HIGH QUALITY Paint… recommend Sherwin Williams Classic-99 flat, satin or semi … acrylic
