No you can't mix oil based primer and Latex paint. It will not work. If you look in your local newspaper or even Craigslist, people are often selling left overs from home building projects. You might be able to get a deal in the paint. Make sure that you only mix paint with compatible paints.

Agree, oil and water don't mix. It would turn into a big mess.
