Need undercoat?

My hall, landing and stair walls are green. I want to paint it all magnolia. I think I need a undercoat first, but don’t know what colour etc to put on if any.

Most likely no priming is needed. Just apply 2 coats for good coverage. Will need to know the exact color and manufacture before I can give better details, there are dozens of colors that use the term magnolia and they range from off white to pink.
